The War of the Worlds record is a concept album by Jeff Wayne, released in 1978. It is based on H.G. Wells' science fiction novel of the same name, which tells the story of a Martian invasion of Earth.
The album features narration by actor Richard Burton, as well as performances by musicians such as Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy, Justin Hayward of The Moody Blues, and David Essex.
